Ilorin emirate community seeks relocation of prison
The Ilorin Emirate community in Kwara State has appealed to the federal government to urgently relocate the prison at Oke Kura in Ilorin metropolis.
National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants' Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji AbdulHamid Adi, said apart from blocking the road leading to the prison, security men attached to the area continued to harass members of the community.
The prison authorities had for almost a year beefed up security around it for security checks on the ever-busy road.
However, the road has been completely closed for almost a week with vehicular movement diverted, causing hardship for residents and transporters.
