Kwara United - Enyimba Preview: Abdulrahman stresses the importance of victory in Ilorin
The Ilorin based side's players have been told by their coach to strive for maximum points against the People's Elephant as he battles to sort out his future with the club
Under fire head coach of Kwara United, Tunde Abdulrahman has stressed to his players the importance of getting a win at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Wednesday when they face Enyimba as he battles through the three-match ultimatum handed him by club management.
Abdulrahman had a crucial meeting with the management of the club last week and the outcome was a press release stating that the head coach had been an ultimatum where he is expected to pick seven out of a possible nine points starting with the away loss to Bayelsa United last Sunday.
This left the former Kano Pillars and FC Taraba head coach with only two matches against Enyimba and FC Taraba.
Abdulrahman in a chat with Goal has asserted that his life cannot be tied up to specific matches but that he would continue to do his best within the limited resources in his care for the Harmony Warriors.
He said his boys tried as much as possible to get something out of their away tie to Bayelsa United and praising them for overcoming the shocks that followed the auto crash suffered by the technical crew on their way to the match. However, he said they lost due to little mistakes which he hopes to correct against the People's Elephant on Wednesday.
"We all know the importance of the match and I have taken time to tell my players to win this game for me. We are in a difficult situation but I am very certain that we shall overcome it. We know that Enyimba are a good side and that they have played some couple matches without defeat. We are not going to let that bother us as we fix our sights on getting all the points against them on Wednesday," Abdulrahman told Goal.
Kwara United are 14th on the log with 15 points from 13 games while Enyimba are riding high with 26 points as they are third from 14 games.
