The Kwara State Government revises 2008 budget
The supplementary estimate which has been passed by the State House of Assembly puts the recurrent expenditure at N 29,246,640,535 while the capital expenditure attracts N 52,088,174,168.
The initial 2008 budget was fifty five Billion, seven Hundred and seventeen Million, three hundred and eight thousand, five hundred and fifty-seven Naira (N 55,717,308,557).
With the revised estimates, the state Government would be able to adjust its spending to be in tune with the dictates of cash inflows.
The revised estimates would also enable government to consolidate on the on-going projects where there are marked variations resulting form changes in prices and capturing new projects hitherto not captured at inception.
The sharp increase in the revised estimates is due to capital expenditure that moves from N32.4 Billion to N52.08 Billion to support infrastructural development.
