Thousands of members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Thursday converged on the party secretariat of the party for a thanksgiving prayer over the emergence of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.

Daily Trust reports that before the election of Saraki, the party engaged in series of prayers, commissioning Muslim and Christian clerics to pray fervently to ensure the victory of Saraki in his bid to chair the National Assembly.

With the bid of Saraki realized, members of the party organized a thanksgiving prayer to express gratitude to God Almighty for making it possible for Saraki to emerge.

APC Chairman, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani who spoke with newsmen after the prayer stressed that the party believes in the efficacy of prayers hence their decision to seek spiritual intervention for Saraki to emerge as President of the Senate.

He described Saraki as a "changed man" who would bring about the change Nigerians desire, saying the change has started with the emergence of Saraki as Senate President and Chairman of the National Assembly.

He vouched for the competence and capability of Saraki, who is the leader of APC in the state, to drive the ship of Nigeria to a greater height especially by ending corruption in all facets of the nation.

Balogun-Fulani urged other Senators including those aggrieved with Saraki's emergence, to cooperate with the President and avoid any rancour and acrimony that might distract them from carrying out their legislative duties.
