Baraje backs Saraki for Senate presidency
A former acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, and the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, on Sunday, canvassed for the emergence of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki, as the next President of the Senate.
While Ahmed said he remained committed to the choice of Saraki as the next Senate President, Baraje said Saraki is qualified for the post, noting that Kwara State should be favoured for the office if it was zoned to the North-Central.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator, Youth Liberation Movement, Mr. Mohammed Ajibola, has called for the emergence of Saraki as the President of the Senate.
Ajibola, during a media briefing in Ilorin, said Saraki as a former Kwara State governor and former chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, had enough experience for the job.
