No plot to rig Kwara governorship election, says APC
The party's Director of Media and Publicity, Kayode Omotose said at the weekend in Ilorin that the party has no intention of doing such, adding, "besides we do not have the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) the Labour Party (LP) in Kwara has alleged."
The state chapter of the LP yesterday alleged a plot by the APC to rig the polls using the PVCs collected with inducement from many unsuspecting owners.
But Omotoshe said, "The Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed-led administration has performed creditably well that victory is at the corner. Aside from infrastructure, the State government also pays salaries, which has become an Achilles heels state. We therefore call on the police and DSS to probe the allegation."
"It is unfortunate that a party, which does not have a councillor in the entire 193 wards and 16 councils much less a member in the 24 member state House of Assembly would make this blind and wild allegation. Even in Ondo State where they control the machinery of government, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, decamped to our party along with many members of the State House of Assembly and also cabinet members in view of the fact that Labour Party has lost steam as attested to by the result of last week's elections.
"It is a shame that when Nigerians are basking in the euphoria of the world acclaimed victory of the President-elect, Maj- Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and celebrating the 100 percent clean up of all the National Assembly seats by our party in Kwara, somebody in the corner of his room is thinking in the negative," he added.
