Princess Funke Adedoyin, a former Minister of State for Health yesterday clinched the All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Representatives ticket for Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Constituency.

In the same vein, reports from the APC venues for the federal constituencies of Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun; Edu/Moro/Patigi; Baruten/Kaiama/ and Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Isin primaries, indicated that Tope Olayonu, Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi and Zakari Mohammed respectively won the elections.

Reports said that a total of 1, 268 delegates were accredited for the primary election held at Irepodun Local Government Secretariat in Omu-Aran.

Adedoyin, who is the sole candidate in the election which was witnessed by officials from the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), polled a total of 1, 266 votes to win the party ticket.

Two of the votes were, however, voided.

Chief Bisi Owolabi, the party's chairman in the council expressed satisfaction with the high level maturity displayed by the delegates which include chairmen from the four councils of the constituency.

Owolabi said the peaceful conduct of the election was as a result of the steadfastness and harmonious relationship that existed within the party stakeholders.

"APC is one big family where peaceful co-existence, equity and fairness had continued to be the watch word.

"The high level maturity displayed by the delegates and party supporters that resulted in the peaceful and successful conduct of today's primary election is highly commendable.

"I urge every stakeholder in the party to continue in the same spirit in order to ensure that the party come out victorious in coming general elections," Owolabi said.

Adedoyin in a remark described her victory at the primary as a victory for the people of the constituency, pledging to be sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the communities if elected.
