Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the post of Bursar in the Kwara State University, Malete.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TheBursar, a Principal Officer, is the Chief Financial Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day-to- day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University. She/he should provide the University Management with appropriate advice and support for all of the institution’s financial transactions including investments.

A.         QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should possess a good (Honours ) Degree in Accounting from a recognized University and must be a member of at least one of the under listed professional bodies:

a)     Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)

b)     Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)

c)      Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPA)

d)     Chartered Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA)

Candidates must have a clear understanding of the roles and nature of the Bursary Department in a University of the new global century and he/she must be Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliant. Candidate must command respect and have the ability to provide leadership.

B.         EXPERIENCE

The candidate must not currently be lower than the rank of a Deputy Bursar and must have a minimum of Twelve (12) years cognate experience, five (5) of which must have been spent in Nigeria University system.

C.         REMUNERATION

The successful candidate will be entitled to the salary and other conditions of service as are applicable to the Bursar in a Federal University in Nigeria.

D.        TENURE

The duration of appointment of University Bursar is for a single term of five (5) years in the first instance with eligibility for re-appointment for a second and final term of five (5) years.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TheUniversity Librarian, a Principal Officer, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the Administration of the University Library and coordination of all Library Services in the University especially Collection Management and Development. (i.e. in the Main  Library  and Libraries across all campuses of the University). He/She has custody of all Library materials, including but not limited to books and printed items, manuscripts, archival material, etc and ensures that the University Library stays abreast of current technological developments and adopts those technologies most appropriate for the University Library. As an academic staff, the University Librarian will be required to provide both Academic and Administrative Leadership to staff in the University Library.

A          QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates for the position of University Librarian, Kwara State University should possess at least a minimum higher degree of Masters in Library and Information Science with fifteen (15) years of cognate experience. Possession of a Doctorate Degree will be added advantage. Candidates are also required to have substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals and must be member of the following:

i)                   Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria,

ii)                 Nigeria Library Association

iii)               Committee of University Librarians
