Sheu Jimoh's death, a great loss - Ambali

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, has described the death of Prof. Sheu Jimoh as a great loss to the academic community.

In a condolence message to the family of the late former Dean of the Faculty of Education and one-time Dean of Student Affairs Unit, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ambali, said with his death the Ilorin community has also lost a great son and respected community builder.

Prof. Jimoh died in his residence last Monday (May 19, 2014) at the age of 70 and has since been buried according to Islamic rites. He was, until his death, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin.

Describing the late Professor of Educational Psychology as an icon of knowledge and a paragon of humility, the Vice-Chancellor said Prof. Jimoh would be sorely missed not only by his colleagues in the academia but also all lovers of education and community development.

While praying Almighty Allah to grant Prof. Jimoh's soul peaceful repose, the Vice-Chancellor while also soliciting the Almighty's help to grant his family and the entire Ilorin Emirate the fortitude to bear the loss. Also in its condolence message, the National Association of Kwara

State Students (NAKSS), University of Ilorin Chapter, commiserated with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyuAmbali, the family of the deceased and the entire Ilorin Emirate on the death of the academic giant.

In a statement jointly signed by its President and Secretary-General, Hussein Lukman and AbiolaSherifMaku, respectively, the Association prayed God to "grant the great educationist AljanatFridaus."
