Fraud: I was not declared wanted by SFU - Toyin Saraki

Date: 2012-04-30

Mrs Toyin Saraki, the wife of immediate past governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, has said that she is not declared wanted by the Serious Fraud Unit (SFU) of police in connection with alleged fraud.

In a release by her media aide, Lore Dada, made available to journalists in Ilorin, at the weekend, she said Mrs Saraki had not received any communication whatsoever from any investigative body, let alone the SFU of the Nigeria Police Force.

Against the speculation, Mrs Saraki's office said that she held no bank accounts with Access Bank and had never heard of Messrs Daltrade Ltd, adding that the speculation may pertain to issues of unlawful impersonation and fraudulent misrepresentation.

"To this end, Mrs Saraki's Office issues this notice of caution regarding any attempts to sully her good name and reputation by association with such matters, while assuring the Nigerian Police Force and SFU of her assured cooperation in any proposed efforts to thoroughly investigate why her name should be associated with such."
