'Traditional institution needed in nation building'
Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed says traditional institution is a veritable partner in nation building.
He stated on Sunday that his administration would continue to accord respect and reverence to traditional institutions.
Ahmed said this in a message on the 18th anniversary of the installation as the 11th Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu-Gambari, who is also the Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council.
Ahmed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, said it was heart-warming that the traditional institution in the state, under the leadership of Zulu-Gambari, had played a credible role in fostering harmony, peace and stability and attracting development to the state.
He said the Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general had tapped from the rich experience of the Emir of Ilorin as a jurist per excellence and seasoned administrator.
He added that Zulu-Gambari's love for his people and humanity was unquantifiable and unquestionable.
"There is no doubt that our Royal father, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, has been a bridge builder of note, advocate of peace and development whose contributions are unquantifiable," Ahmed said.
