KWSG presents staff of office to two monarchs

The Kwara State Government yesterday presented staff of office to two new traditional rulers as they were charged to close ranks with their various communities.

The traditional rulers were the Owa of Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area, Oba Busari Ayinde Oyediran Olanrewaju who was presented with Third Class staff of office and the new Eleju of Igbonla in Irepodun Local Government Area, Oba Alhaji (Dr.) Olabode Abdulfatah Jimoh, who received Fourth Class staff of office

Presenting the staff of office to the traditional rulers at their respective local government headquarters, the Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisiri who represented the state governor urged the beneficiaries to be thankful to God for his mercies.

“You should be magnanimous in victory, you should endeavour to close ranks with all and sundary and continue to provide exemplary and effective leadership for the much needed development of your domain”, he advised.

As custodians and voice of tradition, culture and value of the people, “the people will listen to you and willingly subject themselves for your adjudication and resolution of conflict”, said the governor.

While congratulating the new royal fathers, he assured that his administration would continue to accord due recognition, respect andSupport to the traditional institution by providing them with all the necessary welfare packages to make them comfortable in the discharge of their traditional responsibilities to the best of their abilities.

He described the traditional rulers as the veritable tools for grass root mobilization, cohesion, socio-economic and political development, adding that “it is important to add that it is in recognition of your leadership values and influence that government often partner with royal fathers in the maintenance of peace and security in our communities”.

Responding, Oba Busari Ayinde Oyediran Olanrewaju assured that he would strive to bring about progress and development to is community.

The new royal father also solicited for the support of his people with a view to move the community forward.

Also speaking, Oba Olabode Abdulfatah Jimoh appreciated the contributions of the state government in moving the state forward, promising to perform his duties as expected of his office.
