RIP MUYIDEEN MUSTAPHA OPOBIYI: MURDERED BY THEIR BULLET
Muyideen Mustapha Opobiyi was the son of Alhaji Mustapha Oke-Odo Opobiyi. He was from Agbaji area in Ilorin, Kwara State. He attended Da’rul Salam Computer Training Institute of Information Technology and only completed his classes the Saturday before he got killed by the police’s bullet. He finished only six months ago from Army Day Secondary School, Maitama, Abuja and returned to Ilorin just three months ago. Until his death, Mustapha lived at 61, Oke-Odo compound, Alimi road, Ode-Alahusa, Ilorin.
He got felled by the bullets of the police and government whose primary essence is to safe guard his life. He died because he was peacefully protesting a decision of his government in a supposed democracy. That is a right in a real democracy.
An autopsy conducted on his corpse at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) showed that he died of bullet wounds. No police man has been arrested yet for his death but he died in the hands of one.
Mustapha was buried at the Muslim Cemetry along Asa Dam, Ilorin.
“the death of Muhydeen was particularly painful to the state because at that youthful age, he had a bright future and would have become another glory of the State just like any other promising youth” said the Governor of Kwara State who visited his family on the 5th of January.
RIP Soldier, you will not die in vain.
