Kwara PDP To File Lawsuit Against Atunwa, Other Defectors
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State is set to take legal action against 20 members of the State House of Assembly who recently defected to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The chairman, caretaker committee of the Kwara State chapter of thePDP, Solomon Edeje, in his first interactive session with journalists after the inauguration in Abuja on Wednesday said that the party had concluded arrangements to file lawsuit.
Mr Edeje said that the party still believed that most of the defectors would retrace their steps and return to the party which he described as truly national.
He warned those still procrastinating to brace up for legal fight which he believed would make them lose their seats.
“PDP has very large followership in the state. Do not be intimidated but be resolute in returning the party to power next year,” he told party members.
Lawyers have said that lawmakers can only lose their seat if they fail to provide enough evidence that there was division in the party, under whose platform they we elected.
