Industrialist Commends Kwara NUJ

An Ilorin based business mogul and Managing Director of KAM industry, Hajiya Mariam Yusuf, has reiterated her commitment to the continuous growth and development of media practice for the betterment of the society.

She also commended Nigerian Journalists for their numerous roles in sustaining peaceful and harmonious working relationship among the various sectors of the economy stressing that "you are indeed the eyes and ears of the people".

Hajiya Yusuf stated this yesterday in Ilorin when members of the 2014 Press Week Committee of the Correspondents' Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara state Chapter paid her a courtesy visit.

She stated that, "With the quality service delivery of Journalists in our society especially in Kwara State, people have been well informed about the activities of the government as well as private individuals with a view to promoting peaceful co-existence among the citizenry.

"With your laudable roles and commitment to nation-building, we cannot, but key into your programmes to further enhance your capacities for improved services delivery to humanity. We continue to support you in our own little ways at all times."

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Biodun Oyeleye, charged government at all levels and private investors to always take the best advantage of media practitioners in the promotion of the their activities.

He added that media practice is a unique and all encompassing profession that is over depended on by practitioners of other professions in the society due its information dissemination capacities as well as the commitment to the sustenance of good governance in the nation.

Mr. Oyeleye however commended the Hajiya Yusuf for her passion and supports towards the growth of media practice in the society with a pledge that members of the Correspondents' Chapel of the Kwara NUJ will reciprocate her kind gesture by upholding the standard and ethics of the profession.
