Police Nab 49 Robbery Suspects, Ritualists in Kwara
    
Kwara state police command arrested has 40 suspected armed robbers and nine others suspected of other crimes.
Two of the other nine were arrested for allegedly killing one person for ritual purpose, while the other seven are suspected cult members.
The State Police Commissioner, Ambrose Aisabor, who paraded the suspects at the police headquarters in Ilorin said that, the two suspected ritualists had been terrorising the people of Tabira village near Okuta town in Baruten Local Government council of the state.
He said human head and arms were recovered from the suspects during a search carried out by men of the command, and that the two suspects admitting engaging in sale of human parts. He assured that the command was carrying out further investigation on their matter.
Aisabor said 16 of the suspected armed robbers were arrested in connection with operations in Kaima Local Government Council of the state.
On how some of the other armed robbery suspects were arrested, the police boss explained that "on July 19, 2014 at about 9am, the fleeing suspects by name Manu Sabo was arrested at Venra village with an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle, and when searched a locally made gun with one live cartridge was recovered, concealed neatly in a black polythene bag in a compartment of the motorcycle, and the arrested suspects have confessed to be members of a robbery gang terrorising the area.
"On July 15, 2014, one Alhaji Umar Ahmed and Alhaji Mansur Bello of 29 Pelewura Way, Apapa, Lagos, reported at SARS office, Ilorin that on July 14, 2014, at about 8.45pm, along Ogbomoso/Ilorin Express road, his Renault truck with Reg. No. Lagos KRD774XF, loaded with agro-chemical, new motor tyres, incense sticks and other valuable items totalling about N14 million was attacked by five arrested suspects and others at large, almost killed the escort of the truck , Hassan Mohammed.
