Offa LG presents N1.5bn budget
Olanipekun, while addressing the Legislature at the Legislative Chamber in Offa, stated that his administration is irrevocably committed to the principles of honesty, transparency, accountability, fairness, equity and justice adding that the magnanimity of the Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has assisted in no small measure in making his achievements possible, even as he commended Senator Bukola Saraki for his leadership qualities that has placed the State on progressive path.
In giving a synopsis of the Budget, the Council intends to spend 252,000,000.00 (28.5%) on General Public Service; 5,5000,000.00 (6.6%) on Public Order and Safety; 359,000,000.00 (40%) on Economic Affairs; 20,000,000.00 (2.3%) on Environmental Protection; 111,665,503.00 (12.6%) on Housing and Community Amenities.
Other areas include, Health which will gulp 33,000,000.000 (3.7%);
Recreation, Culture and Religion 88,200,000.00 (9.9%); while Education has 16,400,000.00 (1.9%).
He stated that his administration had given priority to road rehabilitation with the with the filling of potholes with asphaltic concrete while some others have been graded. On Electricity, the Concil purchase, installed and energized five transformers, pledging to do more.
Olanipekun added that over 60 non functional boreholes have been repaired in the last ten months of his administration, while plans are been intensified to sink more boreholes in the area. Over 138,000 free
Exercise books have been distributed to pupils and students in public primary and secondary schools the local government.

Clinics will receive further attention to enhance health delivery, promising to accord Security, Staff Matters and Traditional Institution topmost priority.
