Kwara vs Sunshine: NPL bans referee over incompetence
For Displaying high level of incompetency in handling the ill fated match between Sunshine stars of Akure and Kwara United in Ilorin, referee Mohammed Abdullahi from Kaduna state has been banned for two football seasons from handling matches. Though he would be paid N200,000.00 for the battering he received in that match alongside his assistant referee 1. Kwara United is to make the payment.
The Afonja Warriors who would now play two of their matches under lock and key and would have to cough out N2million within 14 days, they are also to refund the sum of N15,500 to Supersports being the amount that was stolen from the crew while the fracas lasted. The Supersports snatch card that was removed from their camera would be replaced after the cost has been determined.
