KWSG releases another N50m for bursary award
The Kwara State Government has released the sum of N50 million for the payment of second phase of 2011/2012 bursary award for indigenes of the state in various tertiary institutions across the country.
The chairman of the state scholarship, Hon. Isiaka Mogaji disclosed this in Ilorin yesterday in a statement signed by the press secretary of the board, Mallam Olalekan Onilu.
The statement said with the development, the board has commenced the disbursement of the fund to students at Osun State College of Education, Ila-Oragun, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Ibadan respectively where about three thousand students would benefit from the gesture.
Mogaji said the board would thereafter proceed to other institutions for the disbursement.
The chairman praised Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of the state for keeping to his promise with the release of the fund.
He assured that the board will sustain the spirit of ensuring even disbursement of the fund in a transparent manner.
While urging other students who are yet to benefit from the gesture to be patient, he advised them to shun all anti-social vices that could disrupt peace academic learning environment in the state.
