Offa Indigenes Commend Adesoye for Community Development Programmes
The socio-cultural organisation of all sons and daughters of Offa community in Kwara State, Offa Descendants Union (ODU), has described the Asiwaju of Offa, Chief Emmanuel Olatunji Adesoye (OON) as a community man per excellence.
In a statement jointly issued by the union’s national president, Chief Hamzat Adedeji, the secretary general, Chief (Mrs) Wosilat Macarthy and signed by its national publicity secretary, Prince Ademola Ajibade, on Asiwaju’s 75th birthday, the socio-cultural body said his contributions to the socio-economic and educational advancement of Offa, Kwara and Nigeria have positively impacted on lives of several individuals and groups.
The union said it is proud of Chief Adesoye, who was the immediate past national president of ODU, particularly, his foresight in developmental efforts and philanthropic gestures to humanity.
The statement also commended Chief Adesoye for committing his God-given wisdom to the development of Offa in the areas of empowerment, poverty alleviation, scholarship schemes to indigent and non-indigenes of the area.
It also said that Asiwaju of Offa had brought smile onto faces of many individuals and groups, calling on all his likes to emulate him.
The union said Chief Adesoye while as national president of ODU initiated construction of multi-purpose hall at Offa, increased ODU branches from 35 to 65, controlled crime in Offa through provision of a vehicle to vigilance group, free medical services to aged women, among other humanitarian services.
The union also prayed God to grant Chief Adesoye long life, sound health and much more to continue with his good work.
Meanwhile, the ODU has also described death of its legal adviser, Prince Joseph Ijaodola, as a great loss not only to his family, but also to Offa community.
The union, which said the vacuum created by the exit of the illustrious son of Offa would be difficult to fill, added that the members had taken solace in the fact that the deceased lived a fulfilled and purposeful life worthy of emulation.
The ODU said that late Pa Ojaodola served the union for over 14 years as its legal adviser, adding that he represented Offa community in many legal cases at no cost to the union.
