Nembe Eye NPFL Win in Kwara

Date: 2013-04-24

Nembe City technical adviser, Meremu Okara is confident his side will grab their second victories on the road at Kwara United.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) newcomers shocked Heartland 2-1 in Owerri at the start of the 2012/13 season but have failed to expand the giant-killing instinct thereafter.

The Nembe-based side are in sixth place on the log on 11 points from a possible 21.

The Afonja Warriors still fresh from the barren draw at former African champions, Enyimba on Matchday 7 will play hosts to Nembe City in NPFL's Matchday 8 at the Kwara State Stadium, llorin on Wednesday.

Okara said he has a hunch that his side's quest for second road trip win will become a reality at Kwara United.

"I can assure you we're heading to llorin to claim the side second wins on the road at Kwara United.

"After the opening season win at Heartland in Owerri we've been working very hard for another big win, I believe we'll wrap it up this time at Kwara United.

"We won't be contented with a point but the maximum points. We've worked very hard on the project, we hope things will turn out positive in our favour," he said to supersport.com.

Nembe City arrived in llorin late on Tuesday for the epic clash on Wednesday and Okara said his side will not suffer any disadvantage from the journey.

"I don't foresee any hangover effect, we've done our home work well and should be fit as fiddle to execute it on the field of play tomorrow (Wednesday)," he said.
