APC Youth Engagement: AbdulRazaq Declares Kwara APC Ready for 2027 Victory, Unveils Candidates

Date: 2026-07-28

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is stronger than ever and well-positioned to secure a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the APC Youth Engagement 2026 in Ilorin on Monday, the Governor said his administration inherited a collapsed system in 2019 but has since transformed key sectors, pledging to sustain the progress.

He presented the party's candidates for various elective offices to supporters and described the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi (SYD), as a competent and experienced leader capable of taking the state to greater heights.

According to AbdulRazaq, Danladi played a crucial role in the administration's achievements through his leadership of the State House of Assembly, where major developmental projects were appropriated.

"How can anyone say a Speaker of almost eight years lacks experience? All the projects we are delivering today were appropriated under his leadership. If Kwara has developed, then he has been part of that success," the Governor said.

He urged party members to return to their wards and polling units to begin mobilisation ahead of the elections, stressing that while the APC has become stronger, members must remain committed to grassroots engagement.

"Our job has just begun. Go back to your wards, organise yourselves and work hard. We are not complacent. Our party is stronger than ever, while the opposition is weaker than before. By the grace of God, 2027 will be our year of victory," he added.

The Governor also commended the large turnout of young party members, describing it as a vote of confidence in his administration and the APC governorship candidate.

Reflecting on the state of Kwara in 2019, AbdulRazaq said the administration inherited poor infrastructure, a struggling education system and irregular payment of workers' salaries, but has since restored stability and improved public services.

"Our education sector had collapsed when we assumed office. Today, Kwara is recognised among the leading states in the country because of the reforms we have implemented," he said.

In his remarks, Danladi thanked the Governor and the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him, promising to build on the achievements of the current administration.

He said his legislative experience would help sustain and expand the developmental strides recorded under AbdulRazaq.

"You have performed excellently across all 193 wards in the state, and we have learnt valuable lessons from your transformation agenda. By the grace of God, we will sustain and improve on these achievements," Danladi said.

He also appealed to aggrieved APC members to return to the party, describing political disagreements as part of the democratic process.

State APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, presented the party's officially recognised candidates and said the achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration have positioned the APC for another electoral victory.

While acknowledging that some members were dissatisfied with the outcome of the party primaries, Fagbemi urged them to channel their grievances through the party's established mechanisms.

Also speaking, APC chieftain Alhaji Femi Agbaje appealed to aggrieved members to remain patient, noting that politics always produces winners and losers and that future opportunities would still emerge.

Delivering the keynote address titled "One Party, One Mission: Building Unity for Electoral Success," APC Kwara North Senatorial Candidate, Dr. Mahmud Umar Muhammed, called on party members to prioritise unity over personal ambition.

"We must replace grievances with reconciliation, disagreements with dialogue, and competition with cooperation. A strong party is built by members who work together, not against one another," he said.
