NFF Reduces Kwara United Fine to N5m But Upholds Points Deduction
The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has fined Kwara United N5 million for the crowd troubles that marred their home clash with Rivers United in Ilorin, DAILY POST reports.
The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, had earlier fined them N9m for the same offence. Kwara United were made to forfeit three points and three goals as part of their punishment.
Ashifat Suleiman's side were also ordered to play their remaining home games at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta for the remainder of the season.
The NFF's Disciplinary Committee after hearing Kwara United's appeal reduced the fine to N5 million.
It further ruled that Kwara United can return to their home ground in Ilorin after playing five matches in Abeokuta, but upheld the three points and three goals deduction.
