Governor AbdulRazaq Condemns Deadly Bandit Attacks on Woro and Nuku Communities in Kaiama

Date: 2026-02-04

The Kwara State Government has condemned the bandit attacks launched on two communities within the Kaiama Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday. During the assault on the Woro and Nuku communities, armed bandits reportedly killed scores of individuals and burnt several houses.

In a reaction to the incident, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq mourned the victims of the attack in Kaiama. A statement issued by the governor's spokesman in Ilorin on Tuesday conveyed the governor's sentiments regarding the tragedy.

The statement read: "Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is saddened by the cowardly attack on civilians in Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government Area. The governor condemns the attack, which he says is a cowardly expression of frustration by terrorist cells following the ongoing counterterrorism campaigns in parts of the state and the successes so far recorded."

Governor AbdulRazaq stated that the attack was apparently to distract the security forces who have successfully hunted down several terrorists and kidnapping gangs across many parts of the state.

Concluding the statement, the governor expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Woro and Nuku communities over the sad incident, extending his sympathies especially to the families affected by the Tuesday attack.
