Governor AbdulRazaq Approves 27.5 Per Cent Special Allowance for Kwara Teachers
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved a 27.5 per cent Teacher Specific Allowance across the state, fulfilling a pledge made during his budget presentation on Monday. The Governor directed that the new allowance should take effect from January 2026.
The 27.5 per cent allowance is applicable to teachers certified by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria serving under the Teaching Service Commission and the State Universal Basic Education Board. Teachers without the certification will receive a 21 per cent allowance.
The Governor acknowledged the indispensable role and commitment of teachers within the education sector. He further commended their efforts regarding nation building and their contribution to the development of the state.
