Launch of Two Grader Machines for Maintenance and Rehabilitaion of Rural Roads by Senator Bukola Saraki

It was a day of unbeatable joy and uncommon gladness for the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District, when their representative at the Upper Legislative Chamber, Senator Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki launched two grader machines for the maintenance and rehabilitation of rural roads under his Constituency as part of his people oriented programme to meet the yearnings and aspiration of the people of Kwara Central Senatorial District.

The Senator, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment & Ecology, stated in his welcome remarks that the rationale behind the initiative was borne out of his commitment, pledges and promises on assumption office, not only to provide qualitative representation to his people at National Assembly but to equally ensure dividends of democracy are felt at the grass root with direct and positive impact on the lives of the people.

Senator Saraki who used the occasion to mention few attested fact of his efforts towards his Constituency, highlighted his provision of Motorized and hand pump boreholes across the constituency, supply and installation of electrical transformer, renovation of health centers, construction of Primary Health Care Centre, construction of drainages and erosion control.

In addition to this, Senator Saraki made provision last year and the current year, for the distribution of Jamb Forms with free tutorial classes, supporting communities’ projects and also make available, educational and financial intervention through his constituency office. Most importantly to mention is Senator Saraki's Passion in securing Federal appointment for the teeming unemployed youth across his Constituency and also encouraging them by providing funding for entrepreneurship.

He informed the gathering that the two grader machines are to work without charging the communities any fees for either diesel, operator allowances and or any other logistics whatsoever as he has made provision for the maintenance through his constituency office. He equally made it known that the graders will work six days in a week and 9am to 6pm daily. And assures them that interested youths will be taught how to operate the machine as means of employment. The Senator pledged not to relent on his efforts to ensure more physical and other developmental projects are attracted to every corners of his constituency and to all concerned to complement the effort of the State government towards meeting the yearnings and aspiration of the people.

In his remarks, Executive Governor of kwara state, Alhaji Abdulfatai Ahmed, commended the initiative of Senator Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki. He discribed the commissioning of the project as “a new dimension in our democratic experience” The Kwara State Governor attested to the fact, Senator Saraki has shown the world at large, type of quality leader he is made of. He said the project is unique and first of its kind by any Federal Legislator.

The Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatai Ahmed further assured the people of the communities that the State Government will support Senator Saraki's lofty idea by tarring any roads “ Senator Bukola Saraki Graders” works. He urged the masses to be weary of and not be deceived by those politicians who comes around by six Months to election to deceive the people that they can turn“ heaven to Earth”. He said government would continue working for their interest.
