We are committed to good governance, says Ilorin West LG boss
The Ilorin West Local Government Council has said that it would continue to evolve projects and programmes that will have direct positive impact on the lives of the people at the grass root level.
The Council Chairperson, Hajia Tawakalitu Alake Abdulkadri disclosed this during the week during the inspection of the ongoing projects being embarked upon by the council across the nooks and crannies of the council.
Among the projects inspected are the leaders of the Council’s Works Department included installation of transformers at Gaa Ajegunle in Wara Osin/Egbejila ward, Baboko, Okelele and Taiwo area.
Other projects are the renovation of Women Development Centre at Isale Aluko, renovation of Ogidi/Banni Health Centre at Banni area, Ilorin, renovation of a block of two classroom and an office each in both School A and B of Al-Adabiyyah Kamaliya Primary School, Abayawo area, Ilorin and renovation of a block of two classroom at Adeta Primary School, Ilorin as well as provision of 12 sets of chairs and lockers and each set contains 20 pieces.
Speaking shortly after the tour exercise, the council chairperson who was represented by the HOD Works of the Council, Alhaji Ado Sanni said that the projects were just tips of an iceberg considering the lofty projects and programmes the council has in stock for the people of the area.
Sanni explained that the gesture was in fulfillment of the promises made during the electioneering campaign adding that the council would leave no stone un turned to spread the dividends of democracy to all and sundry in the area.
He expressed satisfaction over the quality of job done by the contractors handling their projects and urged them to sustain the tempo so as to complete the project within specification.
Speaking on Gaa Ajegunle rural electrification, the HOD works disclosed that the community would be energized and connected to national Grid by next week.
Giving the vote of thanks at Gaa-Ajegunle community, the community spokesperson, Alhaji Yusuf Alikali gave kudos to the council for providing them with electricity saying that the community would continue to remember the council for that significant project.
