Kwara United Coach Ashifat Admits Nasarawa United Deserve Top NPFL Spot
Harmony Boys hold league leaders to 1-1 draw at Lafia City Stadium; Ashifat calls result 'fair'
Kwara United technical adviser, Suleiman Ashifat, has avowed that Nasarawa United deserve their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.
The Harmony Boys held Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday. Anas Yusuf gave Nasarawa United an early lead before Johnmark Aule levelled for the hosts in the 36th minute.
Ashifat admitted that the outcome was a fair result for both sides.
"It's really a good game. Nasarawa United's brand of football deserves their top spot," Ashifat told Sportlighthub. "It was a tough game, though we'd hoped to replicate our last season's win, but a point's a fair result."
Following the draw, Kwara United moved to the eighth position on the NPFL table with 17 points from 12 games.
