Man Arrested For Alleged Murder of Brother's 39-Year-Old Pregnant Wife in Temidire Community
It was gathered that a 29-year-old man dismembered his brother's wife after allegedly killing her at Temidire community, along Egbejila Road in Ilorin, on 21 August 2025.
Residents said the victim, whose husband is a trader in agricultural chemicals and equipment in a border town within the Kwara North district, was alone at home on Wednesday night.
She was reportedly expecting a visitor and was seen earlier purchasing bottles of beer and plates of peppery soup before going indoors.
By dawn, suspicion arose when a neighbour confronted a man believed to be the younger brother of the victim's husband as he left the house carrying a black plastic bag that was dripping liquid.
On closer inspection, the trail was identified as blood, prompting the neighbour to raise the alarm and alert other community members.
Suspected body parts, including an arm, a leg, and internal organs, were later recovered from nearby bushes. The victim's head remains missing.
Security operatives have taken the suspect into custody for interrogation, while investigations are ongoing.
Police sources confirmed that the case was transferred from the Budo Nuhu Divisional Headquarters along Airport Road to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Ilorin for further probe.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said, "The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public of a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Temidire community, Egbejila Road, Ilorin. ?
?"At about 9 am, a resident of the area reported a suspected foul play within the residence of one Mr. Ekene Enemo. Following a swift police response, a team of detectives visited the scene, where the dismembered body of Mrs. Esther Enemo (aged 39) was discovered in the bush behind her residence.
"Further search led to the recovery of other parts of her body concealed in a sack and dumped beneath a nearby community bridge. A suspect, one Mr. Sylvester Enemo (aged 29), younger brother to the victim's husband, who was seen leaving the house a few minutes before the discovery of the incident, has been arrested in connection with the crime.
"In contrast, the husband, Mr. Ekene Enemo, has also been contacted for necessary clarification. The remains of the deceased have been evacuated and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) morgue for autopsy." ?
?Ejire-Adeyemi also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, had ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter, assuring that the Command would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is served. ?
It appealed to members of the public to remain calm and avoid speculations capable of inciting fear or tension within the community.
The PPRO said the police were fully committed to unravelling the circumstances surrounding this incident and bringing all perpetrators to face the full weight of the law. ?
He reassured citizens that adequate security strategies had been reinforced across the state to safeguard lives and property.
