Six Schools Advance to Final Stage of Kwara State 2024 Tax Club Competition
Six secondary schools have secured their spots in the final stage of the 2024 Tax Club competition in Kwara State.
The competition is organised by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), in partnership with the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, targeting secondary schools across the state.
As Daily Post reports, the preliminary stages took place from 24th June to 4th July 2024, with 83 of the 154 registered schools participating in the quiz remotely from their respective institutions. From this, 12 schools advanced to the semi-finals, and now six have qualified for the final stage.
Six finalists emerged at the end of the semi-final held between Tuesday, 8th and Wednesday, 9th October 2024 as an online Computer Based Test (CBT) with appropriate back-end monitoring by members of the KW-IRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee alongside the representative of the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Roseline Ayansola.
The qualified schools are Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Asa Dam; Government Secondary School, Lafiagi; Shepherd Secondary School, Lafiagi; Government Day Secondary School, Gaa-Akanbi; Kwara State College of Education Model Secondary School, Oro; and Anglican Boys' Academy, Oro.
The six schools will compete for the N2.5 million grand prize at the final stage of the competition, which will hold in Ilorin on 7th November, 2024, according to a statement by the Corporate Affairs Department, KW-IRS.
