According to a news report from Voice of Nigeria, Kwara United Football Club, based in Ilorin, Kwara State, has released 22 players in preparation for the upcoming soccer season.
The club's general manager, Bashir Badawiy, revealed this to sports journalists in Ilorin on Monday.
Badawiy announced that 23 top players from the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) have been recruited to strengthen the team for the 2024/25 NPFL season. The new recruits include Abayomi Samuel from 3SC, Jimi Iteji from Plateau United, top goalkeepers, and players from the National U17, U20, U23, and CHAN Eagles, such as Kazeem Badmus, Adamu Abubakar, and Ifeanyi Ogba from NPFL Champions, Rangers International.
He urged the players to maintain discipline and align with the club's philosophy, aiming to finish among the top three in the next season.
“Our expectation in the 2024/25 NPFL season is to finish among top three, we don't want to struggle again; check our records in the last two seasons, we were among the top four and even qualified for continental,” he said.
