Kwara: NSCDC Commandant Calls for Increased Vigilance by Citizens
The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Umar Mohammed, has charged citizens to remain vigilant and actively support the corps in confronting the mounting insecurity challenges.
He gave the charge on Tuesday at the commissioning of a new Divisional office of the corps in Ipee town, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Umar noted that “security is a collective responsibility,” encouraging all citizens to play their part in keeping their communities safe.

“By working together and sharing information promptly, we can effectively address security challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents,” he added.
Commandant Umar said the recent rise in security challenges in the state necessitated upgrading the outpost to a full-fledged operational divisional office to address insecurity more effectively.
According to him, the establishment of the division will go a long way in improving the operational efficiency of the command, thereby reducing possible threats to peaceful coexistence.
He praised the contributions of the project's financier, Olayiwola Oyebode, Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, and the dedicated residents of the Ipee community for their unwavering commitment and support in ensuring the timely completion of the remarkable project.
Commandant Umar pledged to work tirelessly to address security challenges within and around the Ipee community and ensure a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
The Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olayiwola Oyebode, expressed his gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his timely efforts and contributions towards reducing crime and criminality to the barest minimum in the state.
In his remarks, the Onipe of Ipee, Oba Lawal Mufutau Adebayo Titiloye III, expressed his sincere gratitude to the corps for its steadfast dedication to ensuring the safety of the community.
