Date: 2023-10-18

Gunmen on Monday abducted the wife and two children of a member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Ipaiye/Malete/Olooru State Constituency, Lawal Soliu.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the abductors stormed the lawmaker's country home in Shao, Moro Local Government Area of the state around 1am and took the victims away.

Telephone calls made to the lawmaker elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday were not answered.

When contacted, the spokesman for the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

“Details are still sketchy but I will get back as soon as we have comprehensive details of the incident,” he said.
