The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Kwara State Governor AdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, have felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the state Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 27th coronation anniversary.

Atiku in a tweet on Friday said the emir had ensured peaceful coexistence among ethnic nationalities.

Atiku said, “I rejoice with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 27th coronation anniversary.

“As a revered monarch, who has continued to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst the ethnic nationalities resident in the Ilorin Emirate Council.

“I congratulate him on this special coronation anniversary and pray for Allah to continue to enrich him with strength, wisdom and good health. – AA”

Governor Abdulrazaq said the emir's reign heralded growth in the state.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Kwara State, I congratulate His Royal Highness, Mai Martaba, the Emir of Ilorin on the 27th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of Sheikh Alimi.

“His reign has not only been peaceful, it has heralded a new era of growth and development to Ilorin. Under him, sons, daughters and residents of Ilorin have attained new heights in leadership across various platforms of human endeavour, including in politics and economy.

“As an administration, we are especially grateful to His Royal Highness for his support, fatherly advice, and royal leadership, all of which have helped to strengthen our developmental efforts.

“With his support, our administration is transforming the capital city to become more beautiful amid new economic opportunities and solid plans for sustainable living.

“The government, indeed, congratulates Mai Martaba and the people of Ilorin on this anniversary, and we beseech Almighty Allah to ease the affairs of His Royal Highness and grant him good health and honour always,” the governor said.

On his part, Saraki said, “It is a pleasure to join the good people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State to celebrate the 27th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Mai Martaba, HRH, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari — the Emir of Ilorin.

“May he continue to reign for many years in peace and with prosperity to the Emirate and its people. May Almighty Allah (SWT) guide him as he continues to lead the Ilorin Emirate.”
