Lawmaker donates cars, tricycles to 1,000 constituents

The lawmaker representing Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly, Raheem Olawuyi, has donated items to 1,000 constituents.

Beneficiaries cut across 42 wards of the constituency.

Items distributed include cars, tricycles, motorcycles, deep freezers, make-up kits, industrial sewing machines, car batteries, etc.

The event tagged: 'Mega Empowerment', was held at Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government.

Speaking at the event, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq urged elected officeholders and political appointees to spare a thought for their constituents.

He advised them to live above board and impact the well-being and welfare of the electorate.

The governor, represented by his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, said the government was aware of the empowerment programmes initiated by Olawuyi to improve the living standard of the constituents.

He added that the AbdulRahman and initiative programmes.

He described the programme as a good initiative to reduce poverty among the people and make them self-sufficient.

The Chairman of Kwara South Traditional Council, who is also the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Alebiosu, described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the constituency.
