IEDPU mourns CP Lanre Jimoh
The National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, has commiserated with the Elegede family of Eruda Quarters, Ilorin, and the entire people of Ilorin Emirate on the death of the Commissioner of Police, Cross River State Command, Alhaji Abdulkadir Lanre Jimoh, fsi.
The Union, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, described the death of the Senior Police Officer as a rude shock, devastating and death too many considering his potentials and possibilities of him doing more for the nation and humanity had he lived longer.
The Union said that Alhaji Jimoh was an exceptional law enforcement agent who brought honours to his ancestral home throughout his sojourn on earth as he was never found wanting in the discharge of his onerous responsibilities.
The community leader added that the late officer, who served in several sensitive positions, was very hardworking, meticulous and a patriotic son of Ilorin who did his job with dignity and integrity in all the formations he had served in the last election three decades.
While sympathising with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji(Dr)Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR on the death of Alhaji Jimoh, Alhaji Uthman recalled the Union's interactions with the late officer, saying that with his death Ilorin Emirate has lost a promising son and one of those who would have worked for its further greatness as he said that the great cop passed on on the verge of been honoured by the Union for his selfless contributions over the years.
The Union also commiserated with the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq and his Cross River State counterpart, Prof. Ben Ayade as well as the entire people of the State over the loss of the State's Commissioner of Police. The Union expressed its sympathy to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu and the Police High Command as well as his friends and colleagues over the painful death of the outstanding police officer.
While specifically condoling with his widow, children and members of his immediate family, Alhaji Uthman urged the bereaved to accept the incident as it the wish of the Almighty Allah. He urged them to draw strength from the fact that the late officer lived a life worthy of emulation as a Muslim and patriot. Alhaji Uthman prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Commissioner of Police and grant him Aljanat fridaous.
