Kwara Govt, Baraje Sympathise with Emir over Palace Fire
The Kwara State Government has sympathised with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari ,over the fire incident that engulfed the main reception (Fadaa) of his palace.
The incident which occurred on Thuesday night around 10 pm, was as a result of electrical fault that destroyed valuable items worth millions of Naira.
Speaking after inspection of the scene of the incident, the leader of government delegation,who is also the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold said government is deeply touched over the incident, and prayed God to forestall any future re- occurrence.
Alhaji Gold who was accompanied on the visit are the Commissioner for Local Government,Chieftancy Affairs and Community Development, Alhaji Issa Bawa, Special Advisers, Emergency and Relief Services, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi and Security,Alhaji Yinka Aluko assured the Emir of government assistance.
Earlier, the Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari thanked God that no life was lost as a result of the incident and therefore thanked the state government for its sympathy visit.
Meanwhile the Proprietor of the Baraje Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has sympathized with the Emir's of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, over the fire incideny that gutted part of the Emir's palace recently.
Similarly, he expressed his sympath to the entire Ilorin community over the incident.
Alhaji Baraje commended the state government and people of the community for their prompt response to the incident and thanked God that no live was lost.
The former Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP), equally felicitated with the University of Ilorin over the successful succession of its leadership and urged the new vice chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali to ensure that he improved upon the achievements of his predecessors by working tiressly.
He appealed to the University Council, senate, staff and the entire students to continue to maintain discipline and decorum in the institution.
