Kwara solicits opposition support on COVID-19

Kwara state Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appealed to members of opposition parties in the state to join hands with his administration to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had recently accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of sharing palliatives among its supporters alone.

While receiving 2,000 face masks donated by a philanthropists, Mr Sunday Babalola, the Governor, Represented by the Deputy Govenor who doubles as, Chairman of the State COVID-19 Technical Committee, Mr. Kayode Alabi, said rather than politicians critising government, this was time to wage concerted battle against the novel virus.

Gov AbdulRazq also called on the residents of Kwara to obey guidelines on prevention of the virus by wearing face masks if they must go out, regular handwashing and use of hand sanitisers.

In his address the Philanthropist, Mr Sunday Adebayo Babalola, Represented by Adegboyega Olawale said the donation a contribution to check the spread of the virus in the state.
