Commissioner Seeks Support for Education in Kwara

The Kwara Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs. Fatimoh Ahmed, has called on principals, Headteachers as well as other stakeholders to partner with government in achieving its goals in the education sector.

Ahmed made the call after her maiden meeting with school principals in Ilorin on Friday.

She said the present administration under the leadership of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq had evolved programmes which, when implemented, were capable of taking the education sector to enviable heights.

She further reiterated the commitment of the present administration in the state to the welfare of teachers

"I also want to advise the teachers to be dedicated to their duties and inculcate discipline in the students for them to be useful for themselves and the society at large," Ahmed said.

On his part, the President of All Nigeria Confederation of Principal of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Mr. Toyin Abdullahi, commended the state government for the interventions in the education sector within its short time in office.

He expressed readiness to give unflinching support to the administration in its bid to boost the education sector.
