Eid-el-Kabir: Saliu Mustapha preaches peace, love

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has urged Nigerians to rise above personal and sectarian interests by promoting harmonious relationship to sustain the nation's unity

In a statement issued in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital by his media aide on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, Mallam Mustapha asked Nigerians to exhibit love, compassion and be tolerant of one another at all time.

The former APC gubernatorial aspirant in the State, who felicitated with Muslim faithful on the celebration of the festivities, charged them to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, piety, and submissiveness, which Prophet Ibrahim exemplified.

He stressed the need for all Nigerians irrespective of their political and religious leanings to promote peaceful coexistence with a view to ensuring economic growth and development of the country.

Mallam Mustapha also called on wealthy individuals to support the less privileged in the society to alleviate their sufferings.

"We are celebrating the festival of sacrifice, which typifies one man's absolute faith in Almighty Allah. Let us use our wealth to assist the less privileged in our society to reduce poverty.

"In these difficult times, let us buoyed by faith and retain the hope that together we can make things better by embracing the lessons of sacrifice, which Prophet Ibrahim exemplified", he said

The APC Chieftain admonished Nigerian leaders, religious, ethnicity and political differences notwithstanding, to unite and work towards peace for the growth and development of the country.

On the security challenges in the country, Mallam Mustapha appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government, saying that there will be a light at the end of tunnel.

He solicited the support of citizens by giving useful and timely information to security agencies.
