Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Abdulfatahi Ahmed has called on all residents of the state to turn out tomorrow to elect leaders of their choice.

The governor said the security agencies, in partnership with the state government, would guarantee safety and security.

Ahmed, in Ilorin Wednesday evening during a meeting of the state security committee, warned trouble makers to stay away from the state during the governorship and state assembly elections.

He said he had received the assurances of heads of security and paramilitary agencies in the state of their full readiness to curb any threats to the conduct of free elections.

He noted that elections in the state were traditionally peaceful, asking people not to be alarmed by the presence of security agents deployed for election duties in the state as he had been assured that they would be professional, fair and law-abiding in carrying out their duties.

He asked all eligible voters to comply with the Independent National Electoral Commission's regulations on the conduct of the elections. He said security agencies would be on hand to assist the electoral body in the full enforcement of election rules.
