Kwara government has expressed its readiness to introduce daily mobile courts to further ensure compliance with the environmental laws in the state.

This was said by the commissioner for Environment and Forestry, Mr. Samuel Bamisaiye shortly after the evacuation of refuse in some parts of the Ilorin metropolis.

He explained that government would begin to send security guards to areas where people dump refuse indiscriminately with a view to making culprits to face the wrath of the law.

The commissioner disclosed that the ministry had constituted a special task force headed by him in line with the policy of the government to sustain a clean and green environment across the state.

On commercialisation of waste disposal, Bamisaiye said the waste disposal in the state had been commercialised and enjoined citizens to embrace the commercialisation policy to check outbreak of diseases.

While noting that the ministry had increased the number of cleaning routes from 28 to 40, Bamisaiye said the government would not tolerate any illegal refuse dump site within the metropolis.

The commissioner also warned poultry farmers to desist from dumping animal wastes in rivers or streams, disclosing that security guards would be deployed to some strategic places within the state capital.
