Yasin calls for peace among the people of offa and Erinle

Residents and people of Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State and Erinle in Oyun Local Government Area of the State have been cautioned to refrain from any act that could cause dis-harmony, break down of laws and orders.

They are however urged to foster the unity and oneness of the two communities to accelerate growth and even-development of their areas.

The National President of Offa Descendant Union, Alhaji Najim Yasin made the appeal on Monday in a statement issued on-behalf of the Executive members of the Union.

Alhaji Yasin, noted that nothing could be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor, disunity and lawlessness, hence the need for the people of Offa and Erinle to embrace and promote peace, love, tolerance and oneness towards fostering the development of the two communities.

He explained that allowing peace to reign in both communities is the best way to attract both local and foreign would-be investors to make positive impact in industrializing the areas, thus creating meaningful employment for the teeming unemployed youths.

The National President of ODU also canvassed for cross-fertilization of ideas between Offa and Erinle people as neighbours on how to harness the abundant human and natural resources potentials endowed the two communities.

Alhaji Yasin however stressed the need for the two traditional rulers in the two communities, Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye the first and the Elerin of Erin-le, Oba Abdulganiyu Olusokun the second to educate and enlighten their subjects, particularly the youth on peaceful and harmonious relationship.

He also charged both the Islamic and Christian Clerics in the two areas to always preach peace and unity to their congregations and admonished the clerics to sustain fervent prayers for peace, unity and the development of the Offa and Erinle communities.

Alhaji Yasin who is also the Vice President, Nigeria Labour Congress, urged the people of the two communities to retrace their steps and find ways to sort things out peacefully, calling for respect among all residents of Offa and Erinle and asked elders to caution the youth when they go wrong.
