Obuh dismisses rumours already-promoted Kwara United to throw game vs FC Taraba

Date: 2017-09-20

Former Nigeria U17 and U20 coach John Obuh has rubbished rumours his team will throw their home match against FC Taraba as they have already won promotion to NPFL.

Kwara United top the Northern Conference table with 44 points from 21 games, while FC Taraba are struggling to escape relegation to the third-tier Nationwide League as they are 10th on the Bet9ja Nigeria National League table with 25 points from 21 games.

"It's absolutely unheard of that we are planning to sell our match. Considering my experience and status in this game, I can never be a party to such a crime," Obuh told SCORENigeria

"That we have already gained promotion does not mean we don't need more points. We want to end the season well and make the people of Ilorin and Kwara State as a whole happy.

"That rumour is dead on arrival as we don't have any plan to lose any point at the Ilorin Township Stadium."
