NGO expresses concern over true ownership of Kwara state assets

As Kwara state celebrates fifty years of existence, a Non-Governmental Organization, known as Movement for Genuine Change has condemned what it called personalization of state assets, calling on the state government to explain who owns some assets in the state.

The NGO in a communique released at the end of its summit held in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital challenged the state government to disclose in detail who owned Shonga farm, Kwara mall, Amusement park, Patigi Regatta motel among others.

The communique which was signed by the committee members of the NGO, Doctor Bolaji, Alhaji Mohammed Abioye and Alhaji Tunde Muhammed resolved that some seemingly powerful interest or groups are desirous of fostering a dynastic politics on the people.

In his submission, a renowned Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana, who spoke at the summit, accused the state government of not being sincere over Zimbabwe farmers working in Shonga farm, saying no achievement has been made since the establishment of the farm.
