Kwara Speaker condoles Edu Community over Imam's demise

The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad has commiserated with indigenes of Lafiagi Community in Edu Local Government Area of the state over the demise of its Chief Imam, Sheikh Haroona Mohammed Bida who died on Monday.

A condolence message issued on Thursday by the speaker's Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir described the scholar's death as a colossal loss to the entire community and Muslim Ummah.

The Speaker said that the late Cleric who was a retired Deputy Grand khadi at the Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal until his retirement in the 90s served diligently and was dutiful in the discharge of his responsibilities.

As a judge, the lawmaker maintained that the late Khadi exhibited high sense of maturity in all cases he handled as well as the use of his vast knowledge, exprience and expertise to resolve several family disputes.

Eulogising the late erudite scholar's virtues, Ahmad noted that he was highly respected not only in Lafiagi but in the state due to his dedication to ensure Islamic development and knowledge he exhibited in the course of religion propagation over the years.

The speaker stressed that as one of the leading scholars in Kwara North and particularly in his immediate local government, his demise had dealt a great blow to them and surrounding communities and would be greatly missed.

He stated that the late chief Imam throughout his life was never at any point in time found wanting to anchor hatred, violence preaching or inciting the congregation against the government or adherents of other religion.

The lawmaker who prayed Allah to give the deceased family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss also prayed that the late Imam was granted Al-Jana Firdaus.
