The residents of Ori-Oke Atobiju of Tanke, Tipper Garage Area of Ilorin have appealed to the Kwara State Government on the deplorable condition of their road caused by gully erosion.

They made the appeal on Wednesday through the Chairman of Landlord Association of Ori-Oke Atobiju, Chief Durowaye.

Chief Durowaye said that the gully erosion has washed away the top soil of the road, leaving it in a deplorable condition.

The association's chairman added that the community has made several communal efforts to put the road in good shape.

He therefore appealed to the state government to come to their aid by tarring the road doing the drainage to avoid further damage by gully erosion.

He also appealed to the government to provide the community wih the health facilities and other amenities, saying "since 1984 when the state government was providing clinic, the only clinic here has been abandoned."

Durowaye however appreciated the state government for providing the community with a transformer, which he said would boost power distribution in the community.

Another resident in the community, Mr. Bola Ige also expressed concern over the state in which the road has been left. He explained "whenever it rains, you'll find out the road will be impassable for motorists and other road users. We are in dire need of the assistance of the state government."
