ABS's Abdullahi targets more NNL goals

Date: 2016-08-13

Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS), Ilorin FC top scorer in the ongoing Nigeria National League season, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has said he wants to score more goals that will earn his team a place in next year's Nigeria Premier League.

Abdullahi said this in Ilorin yesterday while speaking with the journalists after his team's training session ahead of NNL week 11 encounter with First Bank FC of Lagos on Sunday. The skilful winger, who had scored 8 goals in all competitions so far this time with six assist times, said he is enjoying life under his new coach Henry Makinwa.

"Our belief to win the only ticket in our group is very high, we are capable of winning and we will fight to the end. I'm not pursing the highest goal scorer award but to score vital goals when necessary, especially ones that will give us three points.

"The mood in our team is very good and we are working for one and other. If you notice very well, many of us have improved our game and this credit must go our coach. He has brought out the best in many of us and he will always make us believe we can achieve anything if we work hard. If you are lazy, you can't work with him and he is also very hard working," Abdullahi said. ABS is currently second in Group B2 of the abridged NNL league.
