The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ali Ahmad ?who stated this in a congratulatory message issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Shuaib Abdulkadir, described the appointment as a well-deserved one.

Ahmad ?said the new pro-chancellor is well known as a disciplinarian and a thorough professional in his chosen career, adding that his appointment undoubtedly would set a high standard for the university in years to come.

He further said that Ali's contribution to the development of education in Nigeria could not be over-emphasised, stressing that he had for several years been a shinning example in the society for the youth.

According to him, I have no doubt that you are going to excel in this new task. Not only because of your background as a lawyer but due to the fact that you never for once shy away to contribute to the development of education in Nigeria.

The university and indeed the State of Osun is going to benefit a lot from your appointment.

The Speaker, however called on staff and students of the university to cooperate and support the new governing council chairman ?so as to be successful in the arduous task of improving the institution's academic performance.

Ahmad also prayed that Allah provide him with wisdom, knowledge and sound health to? enable him achieve greatness in the new assignment.
