University of Ilorin Inducts 48 Graduands Into the Medical Profession
Sequel to the initial initiation of fifty-five graduands into the medical profession, held on 13th January 2016, The University of Ilorin has inducted a host of 48 more graduands into the prestigious community of medical doctors. The medical graduands, being the second batch of inductees for the class of 2015[Primus interpares]; a finale of the 32nd induction. This event of bliss, occurred on the 28th of April, 2016 at the gigantic university's auditorium. It was graced by the University's figures of authority as well as administration.
The vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-chancellor Academics, Prof(Mrs) Ijaya implored the new graduands to be just, efficient in duty, and examples of honour in this chosen line of occupation as the nature of it saving lives demands dedication and selflessness. She remarked further, saying the care of a patient is entrusted wholly in the hands of a doctor and that they should strive hard to ensure its upkeep.
Forthwith, as the Batch B inductees took the Hippocratic Oath of old, they all in turns, solemnly affirmed and bowed in homage and respect to the medical elders (The medical elders are seasoned Medical doctors who have achieved great feats in the field of medicine and the likes); alongside to the special guests too.
Conclusively, the Provost, College of health sciences, Prof. Wahab Rotimi Johnson gave the vote of thanks and advised the graduating class to set good examples for themselves and for the ones coming after them. He reminded them to be sure to attend the school Convocation ceremony later in the year, after which they will become graduates of the University of Ilorin stating further that the induction ceremony was a professional one which did not take the place of the academic one.
